Changes to the manual
The following sections of this manual were changed:
- A new entry in the Instrument Box" section of the Layer-Stack View page was added, explaining that the “Operations” sub-menu for VST3 plug-ins now includes a new “Load .vstpreset” item.
- new section has been added to the Manual Creation of SFZ Files page, describing SFZ format changes added in Unify v1.7. The section after that has also been updated, with references to freely available conversion tools.
- The first section of the Patch Variations page has been updated to reflect changes in how patch variations files are selected.
- The Settings section of the Embedded Unify page has been updated to add the new “enable Master layer” checkbox.
- The Suppressing Events section of the MIDI Filter page has been updated to reflect addition of the All Notes checkbox, and renaming of the “Repeated” checkbox beside it.
- A new Automation Parameters section was added to the MIDIBox page.
- A new section on Smoothing has been added to the Pump House page.
- The section on Linking MIDI CCs to Macro Knobs on the Macro Knobs page has been updated to explain that Channel Aftertouch can also be used.
- A new section has been added to the Tour of the layer-stack view page, explaining how INST layer-titles can now track the name of the instrument plug-in's current preset automatically.
- New thumbnail-image, Global Gain slider, and Random Patch button sections have been added to the Header section of the Navigating Unify's graphical user interface page.
- The keyboard section of the Show MIDI view page has been updated with revised text and a link to the new Key Zones page.
- The Using the Patch Selector section of the Loading and playing patches in Unify page has been updated, adding an explanation of the “…” button added beside the search box in the patch browser (which allows selecting which fields are searched), as well as notes about changes to the selector lists.
The following new pages were added:
- Key Zones (defining colored key-zones in the Show MIDI view)
- Linked Media (adding file or URL links to patches)
Advice for finding smaller details
The list of changes above is not exhaustive. Some small changes may not be not listed. In general, if you're looking for documentation of any feature, you will normally find it on the same page as related features. You can also enter “1.8” (including the quotation marks) into the search-box at the top-right corner of any page and hit Enter to see a list of pages where the exact text “1.8” appears.
